At Mattress Carnival, we want every customer to feel comfortable and confident with their mattress purchase. Since it can take time for your body to adjust to a new sleep surface, eligible mattress purchases include a 90-Day Sleep Trial with a one-time comfort exchange option.
This Sleep Trial is designed to help customers choose a mattress that better fits their comfort needs. It is not a cash refund program.
1. 90-Day Sleep Trial
Eligible mattresses may be exchanged one time within 90 days from the date of delivery or customer pickup.
The 90-Day Sleep Trial applies only to qualifying mattresses purchased directly from Mattress Carnival. It does not apply to bedding accessories, pillows, sheets, mattress protectors, adjustable bases, bed frames, clearance items, floor models, final sale items, or any product marked “as-is.”
2. Required Mattress Protector
To qualify for the 90-Day Sleep Trial, the customer must purchase and use a mattress protector at the time of mattress purchase.
The mattress protector must be used from the first night of use and must remain on the mattress throughout the trial period. This requirement helps keep the mattress clean, sanitary, and eligible for inspection.
A mattress that was not protected by a qualifying mattress protector will not be eligible for comfort exchange.
3. Mattress Must Be in Like-New Condition
To qualify for a comfort exchange, the mattress must be in like-new, clean, and sanitary condition.
The mattress must be free from:
- Stains
- Rips
- Tears
- Odors
- Smoke smell
- Pet odor
- Body-fluid marks
- Liquid damage
- Mold
- Moisture
- Bed bugs
- Insects
- Burns
- Cuts
- Sagging caused by misuse
- Damage from improper support
- Any other unsanitary or damaged condition
Mattress Carnival reserves the right to deny any comfort exchange if the mattress does not meet these condition requirements.
4. Comfort Exchange Only
The 90-Day Sleep Trial allows a customer to exchange an eligible mattress for another mattress of equal or greater value.
This is a comfort exchange only. It is not a return for cash refund.
If the replacement mattress costs more than the original mattress, the customer must pay the price difference before the exchange is completed.
If the customer chooses a lower-priced mattress, the price difference will not be refunded. For this reason, exchanges should be made toward a mattress of equal or greater value.
5. One-Time Exchange
Only one comfort exchange is allowed per original mattress purchase.
The replacement mattress is final sale and does not start a new 90-Day Sleep Trial.
6. Restocking Fee
All approved comfort exchanges are subject to a 10% restocking fee based on the original mattress purchase price.
This fee helps cover handling, inspection, processing, and inventory costs related to exchanged mattresses.
Optional stricter version:
All approved comfort exchanges are subject to a 15% restocking fee based on the original mattress purchase price.
Recommended version for Mattress Carnival: 10% restocking fee.
7. Required Pickup and Inspection Fee
Customers may not bring the mattress back to the store themselves for a comfort exchange.
Mattress Carnival must pick up the mattress so our team can properly inspect the product and confirm whether it qualifies for exchange.
A $50 pickup and inspection fee applies to all comfort exchange requests.
This fee is separate from the restocking fee and any price difference for the replacement mattress.
8. No Customer Drop-Offs
For safety, sanitation, inspection, and handling reasons, customers are not allowed to return or drop off a mattress at the store location for a comfort exchange.
All comfort exchange mattresses must be picked up by Mattress Carnival or an approved delivery team.
9. Products Not Eligible for Sleep Trial
The 90-Day Sleep Trial does not apply to:
- Bedding items
- Pillows
- Sheets
- Mattress protectors
- Mattress toppers
- Blankets
- Adjustable bases
- Bed frames
- Foundations
- Box springs
- Clearance items
- Floor models
- Final sale items
- As-is items
- Special-order items
- Damaged or stained mattresses
- Mattresses without a purchased mattress protector
- Mattresses not in like-new condition
10. How to Request a Comfort Exchange
To request a comfort exchange, contact Mattress Carnival before the 90-day trial period expires.

The customer must provide:
- Name
- Order number or receipt
- Purchase date
- Mattress model and size
- Reason for comfort exchange
- Photos of the mattress if requested
- Confirmation that the mattress is clean, protected, and free of damage
11. Final Approval
All comfort exchanges are subject to inspection and final approval by Mattress Carnival.
If the mattress does not meet the requirements of this policy, the comfort exchange may be denied.
